Bauer Grunwald Hotel Venice has been open to guests since 1880, and today the palatial Gothic-Byzantine building houses a luxury, boutique five-star hotel with 97 guest rooms.
In addition to the historical main building, there is an interesting architectural wing within Campo San Moisè.

In fact, after an expansion that was completed in 1999, Bauer has been a property with two unique accommodations within one building: five-star Bauer L’Hotel, a luxury hotel in art-deco style (with a contemporary look and feel), and the Bauer Il Palazzo, an opulent boutique hotel with a 18th-century identity.
Further, in 2005, the hotel’s owners added a new extension to the Bauer Hotels, Bauer Casa Nova, a 16th-century home next to Bauer Hotel, which allows guests to stay at a private residence with all the amenities.
These classic Venetian style apartments, an alternative to hotel living, are within a quiet street, close to the most important museums and best shopping in Venice.
Of the hotel’s in the Bauer building, BAUERs L’Hotel has a distinctive 1940’s stye facade with Art Déco windows, framed by the next door baroque church of San Moisé and the canal of Rio San Moisé.
The hotel is best known for its large guest rooms and elegant furnishings, Venetian Murano chandeliers, hand-woven fabrics, and fine Art Déco furniture.
All in all, you can choose from a total of 97 guest rooms and 22 suites at the hotel.
Some of the luxurious in-room details include marble bathrooms, precious Bevilacqua and Rubelli fabrics, and locally-sourced wood mouldings.
Most of the rooms have a view to a typical Venetian street, while others have vistas overlook the inner court.
In terms of amenities and facilities, the rooms have Italian marble bathrooms (with bathtubs and handle showers), WiFi broadband internet connections, satellite TVs, and a choice of King, Queen or Twin size beds.
Neighboring Bauer Casa Nova, meanwhile, an extension to the BAUER’s L’Hotel, has 10 guest rooms and nine luxurious apartment suites, perfect for both short and long-term stays.
