Hotel Abbazia Venice Italy receives its name from the fact that is is located within a restored monastery, just 100 meters from S. Lucia train station, within Cannaregio sestiere.
Before being renovated into a three star hotel, the Monastery of Venice’s Discalced Carmelite Friars had always been known as a place of hospitality and tradition.

After years of renovation, the hospitality is also elevated by the addition of all modern comforts, to make your stay an enjoyable one.
There are many features that have remained from the monastery period, including a terrazzo floor sitting room that once was an ancient place of reflection, today an important place to enjoy time together in a bar setting, with wireless broadband available.
The relaxing environment and romantic atmosphere of the hotel extends also to the courtyard, which features a skillfully restored garden. There is also a delightful internal garden, equipped with easy chair, available during the summer months as a place to enjoy your breakfast in the shade of the gazebo.
Despite this ancient heritage, the hotel rooms feature all the modern comforts you’d expect from a three star hotel, ranging from minibars to air conditioning/heating, and from telephones to ADSL internet access and satellite TVs.
All in all, you can choose from a selection of 50 guest rooms and suites, with available types being:
Standard Rooms
Superior Rooms
Junior Suites
The location of Hotel Abbazia is an advantageous one, in the center of Venice, a short walk to the Santa Lucia train station. Saint Mark’s Square is 2 km from the hotel, and can be reached by Vaporetto (water bus), line 1, for example (which travels through Grand Canal).
The nearest Vaporetto stop to the hotel is ‘Ferrovia’, a five minute walk away.
If you are coming to Venice via Marco Polo airport, you have several options to getting to the hotel. The cheapest option is to take a public bus, ‘FlyBus ATVO Shuttle’ (with about 20 minutes travel time) or ACTV Bus 5.

You can also opt for more expensive options, such as a land taxi (about 15 minutes in total travel time), or a water taxi (the most expensive option, always agree on prices before boarding a water taxi), which will drop you off next door to the hotel.
Should you come to Venice via the S. Lucia train station, Hotel Abbazia is located only 100 meters from the station – and you don’t have to cross any bridges on your way there.
