In addition to being a guest favorite accommodation, the setting of the hotel is also popular for different types of events, meetings, and other occasions.

Part of the guests’ Venetian experience is the hotel’s restaurant, Restaurant Terrazza Danieli, which provides a Venetian culinary experience with oriental influences from ancient spice traders, to be enjoyed with the panoramic views to the Grand Canal and Adriatic Sea.

If you are looking for the best in luxury for your stay in Venice, for a honeymoon, as an example, the hotel’s Dandolo Palace suites are among the best in Italy, designed by a French designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice.

The most luxurious of the suites, dedicated to Doge Enrico Dandolo, takes inspiration from the culture and history of his reign, capturing the very essence of historical Venice.

In addition to enjoying the luxurious hotel rooms, you can enhance your stay with the help of the Danieli’e concierge service, who can help in booking tickets and tours to sports and cultural events, as well as recommend itineraries for fine dining and shopping.

History of the hotel, which is today part of the Luxury Collection of hotels, goes back to the late 14th century, when a magnificent building was built to calle delle Rasse by the wealthy Venetian family, the Dandolos, who had supplied four Doge’s, rulers of Venice, over the years.

Their residence, Palazzo Dandolo, as depicted by historians of the time, quickly became one of the social life centers of Venice, and also one of the city’s most magnificent and richly decorated palazzo’s, when it was completed.

Even after Republic of Venice fell in 1797, the building managed to keep its grandeur.

The palace turned the corner on 24th October 1822, when Giuseppe Dal Niel, an hotel-keeper from Friuli (nicknamed “Danieli”), rented the second floor of the palace as a hotel. Thanks to the commercial success of this conversion, Giuseppe purchased the entire palace, and renovated the place to its former cosmopolitan splendour.

The current palace, conveniently located on Riva Degli Schiavoni, is a result from rebuilding and renovation efforts done in the 1940s by architect Virgilio Vallot.

One of the things that have contributed to the hotel’s success over the years is its location, just steps away from the main tourist attractions of St. Mark’s Square, Doge’s Palace, and the Bridge of Sighs.

The hotel is easily reachable, whether you are arriving in Venice by a rental car, train, cruise ship, or airplane.

You can also opt to take advantage of the hotel’s premium service, Private Hostess Assisted Transfers, which will assist in transfers from your arrival location to the hotel (these services require an advance booking of minimum 48 hours with the Concierge desk at Hotel Danieli).
