Hotel Scandinavia Venice, a three star accommodation, is housed within an ancient palazzo (from year 1000), offering magnificent views to the Church of Santa Maria Formosa.
This palazzo is, in fact, one of the oldest building in Venice, and according to local legend, this is the very location where Dedemona met Othello, the “Moor of Venice”.

For sighseeing Venice, Hotel Venice Scandinavia has an excellent location, just a short walk from the main tourist attraction in Venice, Saint Mark’s Square.
During its history, the hotel building was, for several centuries, a residence for a wealthy merchant dynasty, the Trevisan family, from the 16th century onwards.
It was in the 1950s when the Venetian Tinacci took over the palazzo, and converted it into the current Hotel Scandinavia, preserving the original ancient Venetian aristocratic residence atmosphere in the process.
Windows from the hotel provide great views, with, to the building’s left, there is the famous Church of Santa Maria Formosa, and, only a few minutes walk, you’ll reach Piazza San Marco, the Rialto Bridge.
Also, there are several vaporetto water bus stops closeby, the nearest being at ‘Rialto’, for traveling within the city center, Grand Canal, and the Venetian islands.
The latest round of renovations at the hotel have retained an 18th century palazzo charm, but with all the modern comforts you’d expect from a three star hotel in Italy.
You can choose from a selection of 33 rooms, all decorated with period furnitures, Murano glass lamps, and amenities ranging from TVs to minibars, and from direct-line telephones to air conditioning.
Some of the rooms (but not all) also have the benefit of having a splendid view to the nearby Campo Santa Maria Formosa and its famous church (built in 1492)
